    Hi Teratorn,

Thanks alot for the reply. My package arrived yesterday, 4grms of UEI and 10grms bail powder. I just couldn't contain myself and went straight for the UEI and let me tell you what that stuff must be pretty strong cause I took 1/2 a gram before my regular opie dose and even though my opiate tolerance is through the roof at this point I still felt that 1/2 gram pretty good, I was very surprised to say the least.

Now this morning I just tried out the bali, took about 5 grams 10 minutes ago so we'll see what happens w/ that. I really think this will help me w/ my taper and I've read that it's helped alot of people get off the opiates even though they say that there can be a w/d from Kratom too if it's overdone but it doesn't seem to be as bad as full blown opiate w/d, which brings a lil smile to my face. So yea I'm gonna see how long this 5gram dose will keep me comfortable before I have my usual does of poppy grinds. The kratom taste doesn't bother me at all, even tastes a lil better then the scoop of poppy grinds I usually dose with so yea hopefully this will end up being a good thing for me to get off the poppy. I think I'm gonna place a serious order for some bali and maybe try out some kava kava to go with it. Whatever it takes man, I've gone threw pt w/d before and let me tell you pure hell, hell, hell... But even that doesn't come close to a good xanny/benzo w/d which I also went through, now that lasted at least 2 months and was what I'd have to say the worse point in my life(had to even quit my job cause I couldn't go to work, just horrible).. I still take the benzos every once in awhile but will NEVER let that happen again, lesson learned there...

Anyways thanks for your reply and advice, it's much appreciated...Take care...~Dj

I know a fair bit about kratom, have been using it regularly for quite some time and leaning as much as I can about it. I've tried every variety and probably nearly every extract. Two good forums are thekratomforum.com and kratomconnoisseurs.com. Note that they do not talk about "taking" kratom they talk about "burning kratom incense" out of respect for the vendors who hope to keep it under the radar by selling it as an incense not for human consumption.

UEI or Ultra Enhanced Indo is the strongest kratom extract around. It is orders of magnitude stronger than plain leaf. It will destroy your tolerance to plain leaf (the normal kratom powder). UEI is remarkably similar to pharmaceutical opiates, actually, in terms of effects, addiction potential, withdrawal, and cost. It supposedly is enhanced with 7-*****xy-mitragynine, a potent mu-opioid agonist naturally found in the plant in only trace amounts. Interestingly enough, it doesn't work very well on its own -- it should be used on top of plain leaf powder. There is a synergistic effect.

There are over 25 biologically active alkaloids in kratom. Not all of them contribute to its effects. One of them is a mu-opiate *antagonist*, one is a partial agonist, and one is an agonist. Another one is an NMDA antagonist. Another one is an alpha-2 agonist. Another one is a CCB. It may have effects on the serotonin system. The range of effects is quite broad, but the overall effect is a general sense of well-being and a boost in energy. It is also SUPERB for easing opiate withdrawal symptoms. Those alkaloids I mentioned above all play into this effect. It doesn't stop w/d completely, but makes it a lot more bearable. And yes, to some extent it does just prolong the withdrawal since it does act as an opiate agonist.

If you have any tolerance to opiates, kratom will have little to no effect, though. It also does not synergize with opiates; the effects actually tend to negate each other. It's a waste to mix opiates with kratom, you really need to just do one or the other.

As an opiate replacement, it works very well. It's not as soul-destroying as opiates; tolerance builds slowly; if you over-do it you just get sick and throw up, so it's self-limiting; it doesn't dull or numb the emotions. Now, this is talking about plain leaf powder. As I mentioned, some of those extracts are a whole different beast. It's like the difference between coca tea and pharmaceutical cocaine.

So if you do order the UEI, enjoy it in moderation. The withdrawal from it is just as bad as from normal opiates. Fortunately if you've been overdoing the extracts, it's really easy to switch back to plain leaf powder and within a few days begin to feel it again.

Kratom does have a steep learning curve, figuring out which strain works for you and at what doses can be difficult. It's definitely worth it, though. I think it's superior to opiates in many ways, although it's much less intense. Even if one can't get a satisfactory feeling from it, it's good to have around to help ease withdrawals.

I think a good analogy is: Kratom is to opiates as coffee is to stimulants. It's natural, mild, enjoyable, and very forgiving. (Again, referring to plain leaf powder).

I've heard many, many stories of people using kratom to get off of suboxone, methadone, or shorter-acting opiates. For many people it's nothing short of a miraculous and life-saving plant. Please respect it, do not abuse it or draw negative attention to it, it's a very valuable tool and we don't need it being targeted for political capital.

If anyone has questions feel free to PM me.

I don't want to have to mix with an opiate. Just my usual 4 AM and 11AM doses. I go to work early and get off early in the day...

Excellent post. Signed up for both forums. Thanks.

Wow it's been over a year since this thread, time sure does fly.

Anyhoo I managed to get and stay off the opies, still liking the Kratom though. I recently just tried some really good Kava also, was a great experience I'm sure I'll be repeating...

Kava goes GREAT with kratom! A wonderful combo. I recommend Kava by Rex. Quality is the top-notch, prices are low, and he's a decent guy -- I have had the opportunity to meet him in person.

Ive been getting good results using regular leaf (assorted strains) but always adding about 2 grams stem and vein powder, which IME has added a little extra punch to my capsules or brew.

There are a few places that sell the plants but not many. They are actually a tree. Try this place first.

I imagine Kratom, Kava Kava, Valerian Root, a couple Benedryl and Melatonin would be a good combo for someone with extreme insomnia or mild chronic pain. I've never tried Kratom before though. Does anyone here have some thoughts on whether it would be worth trying even if I have a moderate opiate tolerance?

Yes, I am used Kratom as a medicine for pain relief. It gives very fast result. Kratom is also called as Mitragyna Speciosa and it is related to the Rubiaceae family. It is medicinal leaf that can be used for the treatment of depression and anxiety. It is used to eliminate cut back physical and mental drug withdrawal. The important thing, you can use Kratom tea to come out from pain and as a result you feel better. You also use Kratom leaf to prepare Kratom 15x tea.

I've used UEI for off and on for several years, mostly thru the whims of the postal service. Works great for the physical symptoms of withdrawals. Valium, pot, TV, books, etc. will help alleviate the mental/emotional 'I want it' I need it' gotta have it' side. Never experienced any withdrawal from K. One oddity many people
experience is that a smaller amount will give a little speedy sensation while a larger dose will have a sedative effect. Some experience nothing at all. Good luck.

I was really getting into reading all of this and nobody has posted since 08/11. I know how things change frequently as far as where to get it and best pricings and quality. Maybe there is a thread for members with over 15 post, but I don't know why it would be considering it's legality.

I'm interested in reading some more if any of you that have been using it for quite some time and keep this thread going. I myself take very heavy pain killers. My B/T med is still and has been *****'s for over 6 years. Until my doctor changes my B/T to something else which he says he will as soon as I get settled in with the long acting med, he doesn't like to do both at once and I've been fighting with the long acting for a year. I've been though Methadone, Kadian then different Fentanyl patches when they keep upping the mcg's and for the rest of the month, I would have to use two patches at once just got tiresome and after trying all sorts of other meds, I'm back to a higher dosage of the Kadian's and taking it 3 times a day instead of toe. Anyways, like I said, I'm still taking the *****'s and am very interested in getting my tolerance down enough to at least get some help from the *****'s. I just started trying the DF118 Forte's, which before I had tried other codeine products and failed.

I'm curious to read about this Kratom and if anybody can help, my situation is I need to have the pain meds and will be on them till I die. My question is,can I take Kratom in place of the *****'s and still be able to take my strong meds so I can still be able to have somewhat less pain.

Is it possible that I am SOL because of my condition and need to be on the pain meds 24/7?

    Thanks in advance,

    Tazzy
